What did you like about this project? I liked that we all had different subjects so we weren't hearing the same presentation over and over again. Also liked that we had to speak in Spanish for our presentation. It made the presentations more interesting and challenging and really gave us an opportunity to practice our Spanish speaking abilities.
What were some of the most interesting discoveries that you made while working on this project? I thought that the music, the food, and the culture all around was very interesting. Their culture is so much different from ours. Their food is very unique and so is their music. I also thought that the languages that they speak are very beautiful. I thought it was sad however, to learn about how much they struggle. We take everything for granted here but seeing how much they struggle really makes you realize how lucky we are.
What was the most difficult part? The most difficult part of this project was having to write a scrip and present it for the presentation. Writing and talking fluently in Spanish is not easy especially when you're trying to simplify it to the point where everyone can understand it and know what you're talking about. Although it was difficult it added to the creativity of the presentation and made it more challenging. What would you like to learn more about? I would like to learn more about the culture in Guatemala, such as the traditions they have, the food they eat, the music they listen to etc. I feel that Guatemala is a very unique culture and I would really like to know more about it.
What would you suggest to do differently next time? If we were to do this project again I would suggest having more time to research the topics that we present on. That way we can really understand the concept and be able to present with more confidence. Other than that I really enjoyed this project and it was a lot of fun learning about another culture and being able to see how different it is from our own .
